Have you ever had a morning where you just felt so lethargic that everything seemed to go in slow motion and it inhibited your ability to think straight? For some people this will be how you feel every morning - but it doesn't have to be that way.
Aside from medical conditions, there are a couple of things that are stopping you from starting your day with energy, mental alertness and a sense of anticipation, and we are going to look at what you can do to make sure this happens.
1. Eat A Healthy Breakfast
It is surprising the amount of people (especially children) who go without breakfast the majority of mornings. Although we are constantly being told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day - plenty of us are still not getting the message.
By the time that children become teenagers, statistics show that as many as one in 3 people are not eating breakfast.
Food is your fuel, and if you don't eat a healthy breakfast that is full of energy, then you will no doubt be feeling tired and lethargic before long.
2. Do Some Exercise
Breakfast is a great start, but if you really want to start your day (whether that is school or work) with maximum energy then get your body moving. Exercise allows awakens your body and a simple 20-30 minute walk or jog, or some stretching or weights will not only wake up your body - but will also wake up your mind.
3. Have A Shower
Now that your body is awake from food and exercise, having a shower will not only clean you up after a bit of sweat, but it will also make you feel fresh, clean and awake.
A lot of people recommend cold showers to help people wake up, but this is not necessary if you have already used food to provide you with energy and exercise to wake your body. A nice comfortable shower will have you ready to welcome a brand new day and will most likely leave you in a great mood - which your friends and colleagues will appreciate.
Simply put, these three things will help you kick start your day in the best way possibly, by waking you up, giving you energy and preparing you for your day ahead. This is how I prepare myself for the day ahead - is there anything that you would like to add?
If you are feeling overly lethargic and struggling to lose weight, then this is a common fatty liver symptom. Guest author Jenny writes about this and the liver cleansing diet at her blog.
